Verdict: a must have for any handyman

The DeWalt DW920K-2 features 80 inch-pounds of torque output, a 7.2 volt-battery pack, and variable speed. It’s built to handle professional work. The variable speed ranges from 0-500 rpm, and included is a reverse trigger switch for fastening. The two-position handle feature allows users to use it in-line and at an angle for overhead work and tight spaces. The dimensions are 3.5 pounds and 14 inches in length. It’s backed by a 3-year limited warranty and a 90-day money back guarantee. The package includes the cordless screwdriver, nicad charger, two nicad batteries, screwdriver bit, and kit box.
Pros
The DeWalt DW920K-2 is compact, balanced, lightweight, and easy to use. It’s small enough to fit in tight spots, but has enough power to do drive screws into drywall, 2x4s, hex nuts, and is good electrical work and smaller home improvement tasks.
Once the trigger is released, the tool brakes immediately. The variable speed is varied depending what you need. This is different than other drills that may only have two or three different speeds. The 15 torque settings allow you to adjust based on the task, as the lowest setting allows you to even drill smaller, more delicate tasks. The battery charge time is one hour, and it comes with two so you always have a backup.
The two-position handle provides great versatility, as it can work at any angle between 0-75 degrees. This feature can make all the difference when trying to get leverage in a hard to reach spot.
Cons
The battery shape does make it a bit awkward when using in the straight position. Also, while the drill is relatively light, it’s heavier than even a 12V drill by DeWalt. However, the benefit is that it has more power and run time.
The battery life is not as long compared to other DeWalt drills. The downside here is that it costs $40 for a new battery, while the drill itself is currently $73. Also, this is the only 7V drill DeWalt has, so you can’t swap batteries with any other drill like you can with the 18V.
Summary
Bottom line, this is a great drill that can be used professional and for around the house. It’s highly versatile and has more than enough power for the tasks it’s built for.
